Abia Police Arraign Man Over Alleged Abuse Of Son

The Abia State Police Command has arraigned Lambert Evans Uzoma over the alleged abuse of his son, Master Ugonna Uzoma.

Uzoma was arraigned following the conclusion of investigations by the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Umuahia, according to a statement by the command. The suspect was arrested on the orders of the Commissioner of Police, Wilfred Olutokunbo Afolabi, following a viral video circulated on social media.

The video allegedly showed the boy tied with a rope, flogged, injured, stripped naked and left exposed under the sun. Following his arraignment, Uzoma was remanded in correctional custody. The victim was handed over to the Abia State Ministry of Women Affairs for care, rehabilitation and continued protection.

The police said the boy is currently in the ministry's custody, where he is receiving appropriate care and protection.

Uzoma is a resident of Nwokocha Close, off Udeagbala Road, Abayi, Aba, Abia State.
