The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Abia State, Chief Eric Chinemeucheya Opah, celebrated his running mate, Dr Godswill Agu Egbe, on his birthday.

In a birthday message issued on Tuesday on behalf of his family and campaign organisation, Opah described Egbe as a seasoned technocrat, accomplished professional and man of great character.

Opah highlighted Egbe’s more than 27 years of professional experience spanning development finance, pension administration, agribusiness, project management, institutional strengthening and strategic advisory.

According to Opah, Egbe’s previous leadership and professional engagements include serving as Deputy General Manager and Project Manager with BUA International, working with USAID/Connexus Corporation and the African Development Bank Group, and serving as Chairman of the Board of Sane Konsult International Limited.

Opah said the experience had equipped his running mate with expertise in economic and institutional matters.

He also spoke about the relationship between the two men, saying their political partnership had developed into a friendship based on mutual respect, trust, and shared values.

“Since we embarked on this journey together, we have bonded so closely, built on mutual respect, trust, and shared values. What began as a political partnership has grown into a friendship that I believe will last us a lifetime,” Opah said.

The APC candidate said their proposed administration would focus on sustainable development, economic empowerment and governance across different sectors.

“We believe Abia deserves a government that will create opportunities, strengthen businesses, empower farmers, create jobs, support workers and pensioners, and build an economy where families can genuinely prosper,” he said.

Opah also expressed confidence in the partnership ahead of the 2027 governorship election and prayed for Egbe’s long life, wisdom and good health.

He reaffirmed their commitment to what he described as their shared resolve to “build the Abia we believe is possible.”
