Bayelsa APC Dismisses Rainbow Coalition, Backs Tinubu For 2027

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bayelsa State has dismissed the relevance of the emerging Rainbow Coalition, saying its existing structures are sufficient to support President Bola Tinubu and other APC candidates in the 2027 general elections.

The state APC Chairman, Warman Weri Ogoriba, stated this in a statement, saying the party remained organised and established across the state's eight local government areas and political wards. Ogoriba said the party would not be distracted by political alliances outside its structure, adding that its focus was to consolidate its membership, strengthen internal cohesion and deepen grassroots mobilisation ahead of the elections.

"The task before the party is to remain organised, disciplined and committed to the collective objective of advancing the APC and supporting its candidates at all levels," he said.

The APC chairman said the party's structures, members, stakeholders and grassroots networks would provide the foundation for its campaign ahead of the 2027 elections. He urged party members and supporters across the state to remain united and focused, assuring them that the leadership would continue consultations with stakeholders and mobilisation across communities. Ogoriba reaffirmed the Bayelsa APC's commitment to strengthening its organisation and supporting Tinubu and other APC candidates in the 2027 elections.

The Rainbow Coalition is a cross-party political arrangement associated with Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, which he has said is focused on mobilising support for Tinubu's 2027 re-election bid.
