Alex Otti Is Loved Across Abia State — Nwokocha

Former Senator representing Abia Central, Senator Darlington Nwokocha, has said that Governor Alex Otti enjoys massive support and goodwill across all parts of Abia State, attributing the widespread acceptance to his performance in office and commitment to meritocracy.

Nwokocha stated this while speaking with journalists at the Enyimba International Stadium, Aba, the venue of the grand civic reception organised in honour of Governor Otti by the Ukwa La Ngwa bloc of Abia State.

According to the former lawmaker, the Otti administration has restored merit-based governance in Abia State, effectively ending the era where personal connections determined access to jobs and government contracts.

“Governor Alex Otti has restored meritocracy to Abia State. Gone are the days when you must know someone before you get a job or contract. Today, it is about competence and merit. The governor has no time for frivolities,” Nwokocha said.

He noted that the emphasis on transparency and merit has contributed significantly to the peace and stability currently being enjoyed across different sectors of the state.

Nwokocha described the massive turnout at the stadium as a clear reflection of the genuine love Abians have for Governor Otti, stressing that the crowd was organic and not rented.

“These crowds are not rented. They are people who have long waited for an opportunity to appreciate the governor for his good works and to encourage him to do more. This is genuine love. This is capacity,” he stated.

The former senator further commended Governor Otti’s achievements in office, noting that the people of Ukwa La Ngwa understand good leadership and have demonstrated their support through the overwhelming turnout. He added that, based on the current level of acceptance, the 2027 governorship election would be an easy victory for the governor.
