Abia APC Disowns Youth Leader’s Call For Suspension Of City Boys Movement

The Abia State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has disowned a statement purportedly issued by its State Youth Leader calling for the suspension of the activities of the City Boys Movement in the state.

The party said the statement was unauthorized and did not reflect the position of the State Chairman or the State Working Committee (SWC).

In a statement signed by the APC Publicity Secretary, Uche Aguoru, the party said the State Chairman and members of the SWC were neither consulted nor did they authorize the statement.

The party therefore urged members and supporters to disregard the purported directive, stressing that official decisions of the Abia APC are communicated through the appropriate organs of the party.

According to the APC, its leadership in Abia is working with the City Boys Movement, as well as other support groups and political structures across the state, in pursuit of the party’s objective of securing victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other APC candidates in the 2027 general election.

The party also cautioned its State Youth Leader against issuing statements or taking actions without authorization, particularly on matters capable of creating an impression of disunity or causing disaffection among members.

The APC further directed its members, supporters and affiliated groups to remain guided by decisions and directives issued through the appropriate organs of the party.

The Abia APC leadership reaffirmed its commitment to unity, discipline and cooperation among its members, support groups and other stakeholders as preparations for the 2027 general election continue.
